New Delhi/Kolkata: There are not many days left for the West Bengal Assembly elections but the efforts to take political advantage between the party and the opposition have intensified. In this sequence, BJP IT cell chief and co-in-charge of Bengal Amit Malviya has made a big attack on the ‘Yuva Sathi’ scheme launched by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for the youth. He has raised questions on the claims of Mamata government in which it was said to provide 2 crore jobs in Bengal.
Claim of 2 crore jobs, reality is 13 lakh unemployed
Amit Malviya said that it is ironical that the TMC government, which was boasting of creating 2 crore jobs in Bengal for the last decade, is now celebrating victory by getting 13 lakh registrations in the Unemployment Allowance Scheme (Yuva Sathi) within just 48 hours. According to Amit Malviya, such a large number of registrations is a living proof of the failure of the Mamata government.
Is this not evidence of failure?

The BJP leader accused the government of presenting old schemes by giving them new names. He reminded that the ‘Yuvashree’ scheme was launched with much fanfare in 2013, promising Rs 1,500 per month. But its applicants are still waiting for their rights.
Recycled version of ‘Yuva Sathi’ and ‘Yuvashree’
Amit Malviya wrote – “Let us not forget: In 2013, the government had launched Yuvashree with much fanfare, promising unemployed youth Rs 1,500 per month. It was touted as a big scheme. Yet after 2017-18, the allocation almost dried up, leaving thousands of applicants, many of them from the 2013-14 batch, without a job for years. Kept waiting for his rights. Malviya said that ‘Yuva Sathi’ is nothing but a recycled form of ‘Yuvashree’.
Changing name does not create jobs
Amit Malviya wrote, “What happened to Yuvashree? Why were benefits not given to so many young applicants despite big announcements? Changing the name of a stalled scheme does not create jobs. Repeating promises does not create the future. The youth of Bengal want more than just show off. They want good education, real employment opportunities and a way to live with dignity, not the allowances announced from time to time before elections. Future of Bengal. “Can’t be made with old schemes and headline management.”
