During the ongoing joint operation on the Chhattisgarh-Andhra Pradesh border, security forces killed 7 Naxalites, including three female Naxalites. According to sources, security agencies have also received information about the death of top level Naxal leader and Politburo member Devji in this encounter. A large quantity of arms and ammunition has been recovered from the killed Naxalites. Four Naxalites have been identified, the process of identifying the remaining three is underway.
Encounter in the same area the next day after Hidma was killed
On November 18, notorious Naxalite leader Hidma was killed along with six Naxalites including his wife in the same area. Continuous inputs were being received in the same area that some senior Naxalite leaders are still present. Based on this information, the security forces continued the intensive operation. This morning once again when the security forces moved forward in the area, the Naxalites started firing inside the dense forest. Seven Naxalites were killed in retaliation.
Major operation underway in Maredumilli area of Andhra Pradesh
The encounter took place in the forests of Maredumilli in Alluri Sitarama Raju district of Andhra Pradesh, where the search operation is still going on on a large scale. Teams are cordoning off sensitive parts of the area and searching so that no remaining Naxalite group gets an opportunity to escape.
50 Naxalites arrested
On the other hand, Andhra Pradesh Police has arrested 50 CPI (Maoist) workers in Krishna, Eluru, NTR Vijayawada, Kakinada and Dr BR Ambedkar Konaseema districts. ADG Intelligence Mahesh Chandra Ladda said- “Continuing yesterday’s operation, we have so far arrested 50 CPI (Maoist) members, mostly from Chhattisgarh region and some from Telangana. Of the 50, 3 are state committee members, 5 are divisional committee members (DCMs), around 17 are area committee members, and the rest are party members. All are active members of the Maoist outfit. They plan to attack the area. Based on accurate information, we took action and arrested him.”
