Here, one eye of an innocent 8 year old child was completely destroyed when a packet of chips burst. After this accident, there is an atmosphere of fear and anger in the entire area.

According to the information, 8 year old son of Lab Harpal, resident of Shagarghat village, had bought a packet of chips from a shop in the village. The child returned home from tuition in the evening and was preparing to eat chips. At the same time his mother Bhanumati Harpal was cooking in the kitchen. She lit the gas stove and went out for a while to fetch water.

Meanwhile, the child went near the gas stove with a packet of chips. Suddenly the packet slipped from his hand and the packet of chips burst as soon as it came in contact with the gas fire. Its sound echoed in the entire house.

The chip packet exploded directly on the child’s face, causing serious injury to his eye. The intensity of bursting of the packet was so much that the pupil of the child’s eye came out and the eye was completely destroyed. When the mother returned to the kitchen after hearing the child screaming, she saw that her son’s face was bloodied and one eye was badly damaged.

Immediately after the incident, the family took the child to the hospital for treatment. After examination, the doctors told that due to deep injury in the eye, now she will never be able to see again. On hearing this, a mountain of sorrow fell on the family.

The child’s mother Bhanumati Harpal cried and said that her son is completely ruined. He told that he had given money to his son to buy biscuits, but he bought a packet of chips. According to the mother, if her son had been blind from birth, perhaps the pain would have been less, but the sudden loss of his eyesight after nurturing him for so many years is unbearable for her.

He raised the question that what is there in the packets of chips sold in the market, which explode like a bomb as soon as they come in contact with fire. If foods made for children are so dangerous, then why is their sale not strictly monitored?

Angered by the incident, the child’s parents have lodged a complaint against the chip manufacturing company at Titlagarh police station. The family has demanded strict action and justice in the case. The police have registered an FIR and started investigating the matter.

This incident has raised serious questions on the safety and quality of packaged food. Local people are also demanding that the administration should take this matter seriously and take concrete steps to prevent recurrence of such incidents, so that no other innocent life is ruined like this.
