The International Criminal Tribunal for Bangladesh (ICT-BD) has sentenced former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to death for human rights violations. A three-judge bench announced a landmark verdict, saying that the charges against Sheikh Hasina were proved and sentenced her to death.
The International Criminal Justice Council (ICT) Court, which has declared Bangladesh’s former prime minister Sheikh Hasina guilty in connection with the violence during the 2024 student movement, has sentenced her to death and issued a significant order. The Judicial Council in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, has ruled that Sheikh Hasina is guilty in the case of violence against students.
The students were agitating for 56% reservation in 2024. 1,400 people died in the student movement in Bangladesh. Then on 5th August 2024, Hasina resigned and fled to India.
