Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a reshuffle in the leadership of its national men’s team. Young cricketer Saif Hasan has been appointed the vice-captain of the T20 International team. He has consistently performed well in this format and considering his impressive performance, he has been given this responsibility. Liton Das will lead the team till T20 World Cup 2026. Saif impressed in Asia Cup 2025
Saif played his first T20 International match against Pakistan cricket team in the year 2021. He has played 18 matches so far and has scored 396 runs in 17 innings at an average of 28.28 and strike rate of 121.84. He has scored 4 half-centuries with his bat. Saif’s best score in this format has been 69 runs. He scored 178 runs at an average of 44.50 in Asia Cup 2025.
Mehdi Hasan Miraj made vice-captain of the test team
BCB also announced Mehdi Hasan Miraj as the vice-captain of the Bangladesh Test team. He will serve under Nazmul Hossain Shanto, who will continue to lead the team until the end of the current ICC Test Championship cycle. In ODI cricket also, Shanto will be the captain and Miraj will be the vice-captain. Let us tell you that Miraj was appointed ODI captain in June this year for a tenure of one year.

Along with the announcement of the new vice-captain, BCB has also announced new committee appointments. Rubaba Daula will take over as the president of the women’s wing. She replaces Abdur Razzaq, who will now serve as vice president. Abdur Razzaq will also replace Khalid Mashud as High Performance chairman, while Mashud will take over as on-field chairman from BCB chairman Aminul Islam.
