Bangalore: A CID investigation revealed that Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), DNA and Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) were directly responsible for the death of 11 people in the tragic stampede at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The CID officials, who have completed the investigation, were waiting for the High Court’s permission to file the charge sheet. Now that the green signal has been received from the High Court, the CID is preparing to submit the charge sheet of more than 2,200 pages to the court.
In the CID investigation report, the major factors that led to the stampede and the failures of the three institutions were clearly mentioned. There was no proper plan before planning the program. The police officers were not properly informed about the meetings held and the decisions taken. The decision was taken without proper planning in the meeting held before the program was planned.

The RCB organization gave confusing information about the ticket, which led to false rumours. Due to this confusion, the incident happened with a large number of people. There was no adequate security plan on the part of DNA. The investigation confirmed the utter failure of private security agencies to be used. The event was organized without proper consultation or coordination with the police department.

The CID officials have recorded the statements of hundreds of eye witnesses, CCTV footage, statements of the injured and those involved in the incident. Scrutiny of CCTV footage near all gates. Record the statement of the security guard and police who were on duty at each gate. Record the statement of the injured and those who rushed them to the hospital.

Considering all these factors found in the investigation, the CID has named these three organizations – RCB, DNA and KSCA – as directly responsible for the death of 11 people in the charge sheet.
