Chitradurga: 10 people were burnt alive when a Seabird bus and a lorry collided near Chitradurga. In the wake of this terrible tragedy, another major disaster has come to light that was missed by a hair’s breadth.
The Seabird sleeper bus, which left Bangalore’s Anand Rao Circle at 8:30 pm, carrying 29 passengers, collided with an out-of-control lorry near Chitradurga around 2 am. Immediately after the collision, the bus caught fire and started burning.
After this accident, another big tragedy was missed by a hair’s breadth. A tourist bus carrying school children was coming right behind the Seabird bus, and due to the punctuality of the driver Sachin, the students escaped danger.

A lorry hit a bus right in front of our eyes. The danger was averted as the bus was controlled by braking immediately. Otherwise our bus would have crashed too. Sachin, an eyewitness driver, recalled the horrific moment that immediately after the lorry hit, I got down and rushed to save the screaming passengers.
Scenes of 9 people boarding a bus near Anand Rao Circle in Bangalore have been captured on CCTV. It is unfortunate that 10 of those who went on the trip with smiles got caught in the fire. Among the 29 passengers in the bus, the injured have been admitted to the hospital and the identity of the deceased is being ascertained. In connection with the incident, Nagaraj, the owner of Travels, was issued a summons by the police and asked to come to Chitradurga immediately.
