Bagalkot: The menace of stray dogs has increased in Bagalkote district and has created anxiety among the public. A dog attacked a 10-year-old girl named Alaina Rajesaba who was playing in front of her house in Sector 15 of Navnagar. The girl was bitten and injured on the face by the dog as she tried to escape.
The parents were shocked to see Alaina, a 4th class student lying in a pool of blood with severe injuries on her face and eyes. She was immediately admitted to Navnagar district hospital and is undergoing emergency treatment. Deep scars on the face are a cause of concern for parents.

In Bagalkote city, the public has expressed outrage that the municipal council has not taken action despite the rampant stray dogs. Residents have demanded that the authorities should wake up immediately because they are afraid to send the children out. It is the insistence of the people that the Stray Dog Breed Control (ABC) scheme should be strictly enforced and not limited to documentation.
