Stone pelting at religious procession in Bengaluru, Hindu organizations lodged complaint

Bengaluru: A case of stone pelting has come to light during a religious procession in Chamarajpet area of ​​the city. According to information received from police sources, when the religious procession of Om Shakti group was passing through Chamarajpet area late on Sunday evening, suddenly someone pelted a stone. In this attack, a woman devotee was hit by a stone on her head. After this, Hindu organizations went to the police station and lodged a complaint in this matter. Hindu organizations have demanded strict action against the culprits. The police have started all efforts to solve the case.

Devotees demonstrated

“We have received a complaint that stones were thrown at the chariot during the procession,” a police officer said. It is alleged that “some anti-social elements from another community” pelted stones. After the incident, angry devotees gathered in front of Jagjivan Ram Nagar police station and started protesting demanding action against the accused. The protesters alleged that such incidents had happened before and demanded registration of an FIR in the matter.

Investigation into the case continues

The police officer said that an FIR has been registered in this regard and the matter is being investigated. Security has been tightened in the area and Western Division Deputy Commissioner of Police Yatish N. B. Reached the police station and reviewed the situation. Police said, “Necessary action will be taken against the accused as soon as they are identified.” He said that at present the situation is under control.
