New Delhi: Congress leader Sonia Gandhi has been admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi. According to sources, now his condition is fine and he has been kept under the observation of a chest specialist. A hospital source said that he has been admitted as part of routine check-up. He told that the Congress leader has been suffering from cough for a long time and she keeps coming for checkup from time to time, especially due to pollution in the city. The source said that Sonia Gandhi was admitted to the hospital on Monday evening. Let us tell you that Sonia Gandhi celebrated her 79th birthday only in December 2025.

According to Dr. Ajay Swaroop, President of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Congress leader Sonia Gandhi was having trouble breathing and medical examination revealed that her bronchial asthma had slightly worsened due to the combined effect of cold and pollution. Dr Swaroop said, “As a precautionary measure, he has been admitted for further observation and treatment. At present his condition is absolutely stable. He is responding well to the treatment and is being given antibiotics and other supportive medicines. Based on the improvement in his condition, the treating doctors will take a decision on discharging him from the hospital in a day or two.”

Sonia Gandhi has faced many health problems in recent years. A few months ago, he was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi due to stomach related problem. Her hospitalization in February lasted for one day, during which she remained under the care of a gastroenterology specialist. Earlier on June 19, Sonia Gandhi was discharged from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi after treatment for stomach related illness. The 79-year-old senior leader was admitted on June 15 following complaints related to stomach infection. Gandhi was under intensive medical observation for the last four days.
