Amid US action in Venezuela, PM Modi received a call from Netanyahu

New Delhi: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a telephone call to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and talked to him. It is said that both the leaders greeted each other for the New Year and wished for peace and prosperity for the people. Both the leaders reiterated the policy approach of zero tolerance towards terrorism. This conversation between the two leaders took place at a time when America has created a stir in global politics by taking military action in Venezuela and taking the President and his wife hostage.

Emphasis on strengthening India-Israel strategic partnership

The two leaders emphasized on further strengthening the India-Israel strategic partnership in the new year with shared democratic values, deep mutual trust and forward-looking vision. Reiterated our approach to zero-tolerance towards terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and reiterated our commitment to fight this menace.

What did PM Modi write on X?

PM Modi also shared the conversation with Netanyahu on social media. He wrote: ‘It was a pleasure to speak to my friend, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and wish him and the people of Israel a Happy New Year. We discussed ways to further strengthen the India-Israel strategic partnership in the coming year. We also exchanged views on the regional situation and reiterated our shared resolve to fight terrorism more forcefully.

Netanyahu informed PM Modi about the implementation of the Gaza peace plan. PM Modi reaffirmed India’s continued support to efforts towards a just and lasting peace in the Gaza Strip. The two leaders also discussed regional and global issues of mutual interest and agreed to remain in touch with each other.
