A sensational case of illegal trade in blood of voiceless animals has come to light in Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana. Drug Control and Hyderabad City Police have seized blood of sheep and goats in huge quantities. There is panic in the area after this action.

‘Blood game’ was going on in Kacheguda

Information was received that animal blood was being collected illegally in a firm named ‘CNK Import and Export’ located in Kacheguda. When the police raided there, even the officers were stunned to see the scene. There were large quantities of containers of preserved blood, ready to be shipped out. During the raid, about 1,000 liters of sheep and goat blood was recovered from the spot.

How was the game?

It is alleged that blood was being collected from live animals and sent to a firm based in Haryana. Investigation revealed that the blood was not being drawn from a slaughterhouse, but from live animals. This is a serious crime under animal welfare laws and an extremely cruel act. According to officials, this is the biggest case of animal exploitation and illegal biomedical supply chain in recent times.

Investigators found that this blood was being sent to a firm in Haryana. However, what was the ultimate use of this blood remains a mystery. It is suspected that it was being used in illegal clinical trials. It is used as a cheap alternative in unauthorized medical research.

Owner absconding, police started search

Nikesh, the owner of ‘CNK Import and Export’ is absconding after the raid. Police have registered a case against him under various sections of animal cruelty, illegal trade and violation of biomedical rules. The seized blood samples have been sent for forensic examination.
