Today Sensex fell by 604 points and closed at 83,576.24 points, while Nifty slipped by 193 points and closed at 25,683.30 points. Midcap shares also witnessed fluctuations throughout the day. Nifty Midcap 50 closed at 17,096.50 points with a fall of 118 points by market close.

Among the top gainers today, NALCO, Oil India and Hind Zinc performed well with gains of 4.50 per cent, 2.67 per cent and 2.60 per cent respectively. Shares of Coforge and Ashok Leyland also gained 2.03 per cent and 1.78 per cent respectively. IEX, Manappuram Finance, Godrej Properties, Adani Green Energy and 360 One Left were the top losers, falling 7.82 per cent, 7.64 per cent, 4.94 per cent, 4.32 per cent and 3.55 per cent respectively.
Increase in gold and silver prices
There has been an increase in the prices of gold and silver in the Indian bullion market today. Today 24 carat gold is being sold at Rs 1.37 lakh per 10 grams and if we talk about silver, it is being sold at Rs 2.40 lakh per kg. Till the time of writing the news, CAC and FTSE in the European stock market were trading with gains in the international market. The S&P 500 of the American stock market was on the green mark with gains.
