Private bus falls into ditch in Himachal’s Sirmaur, 8 killed; There were more than 35 passengers on board

A major road accident occurred in Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh on Friday. Here a private bus filled with passengers fell into a 200 meter deep gorge. 14 people have died in the bus accident while 31 people have been injured. There was an outcry on the spot after the incident.

The bus was blown to pieces in the accident

This private bus was going from Shimla to Kupvi. It is being told that this bus “Jeet Coach” has rolled down the road into the ditch in Haripurdhar of Renukaji assembly constituency of Sirmaur district. This bus has fallen into a ditch just before Haripurdhar market. It is being told that the bus was packed. The bus was destroyed in the accident. After the incident, a crowd of people ran towards the spot and evacuated the dead and injured from the bus.

The driver lost control of the bus

The local people present at the spot suspect that the bus driver lost control of the vehicle and due to this it slipped off the road and fell into the ditch. In the video going viral on social media, a large number of people can be seen helping in the rescue work and trying to pull out the injured from the wreckage of the bus.

CM Sukhwinder Singh expressed grief

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu expressed grief over the loss of life and property in the accident. According to a statement, the Chief Minister directed the district officials to provide all possible assistance to the families of those killed in the accident and ensure best medical care to the injured.

Death toll may increase

Sirmaur SP Nischint Singh Negi said, “Eight people died in an accident when a private bus going from Kupvi to Shimla fell off the road near Haripurdhar in Sirmaur district. The death toll may increase. There were 30-35 people in the bus and information is awaited. I am going to the spot. Police and other rescue teams are trying to rescue the injured.”
