At the annual press conference of the Indian Army on Tuesday, the Army Chief gave a warning of sorts, saying that Pakistan’s chief of military operations has been asked to control drone infiltration from Pakistan into India. The Army Chief said on Tuesday that the situation in Jammu and Kashmir remains sensitive, but is completely under control. Giving more details about the drones seen, General Upendra Dwivedi said that the drones seen were very small and their lights were on; They were not flying very high. He reported that about six drones were seen on January 10, and two to three drones were seen on January 11 and 12.

General Dwivedi said, rein in

General Dwivedi said, “I believe these were defensive drones, trying to see if any action was being taken against us. It is possible that they also wanted to see if there was any lapse or laxity in the Indian Army, or if there was any way through which they could send terrorists. They might have got a negative response. They said, rein in.”

He said, “They must have seen that as of today there is no place or no way from where they can send terrorists, but this is certain: today we had a meeting with the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO). In that meeting the matter was discussed and they were told that this is not acceptable to us, please maintain control. This has been conveyed to them…,” he said.

India is ready for any action

General Dwivedi said on Tuesday that Operation Sindoor is going on. He warned Pakistan that any misadventure in future would be responded to effectively. Speaking to reporters in his first press conference of 2026, General Dwivedi also said that the Indian Army had deployed its troops during Operation Sindoor and is fully prepared for ground action if Pakistan makes any mistake.
