New Delhi: Plagued by domestic violence and amid increasing American pressure, Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi today spoke on phone to India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar. During this, both the leaders discussed the current situation and changing circumstances in Iran. Foreign Minister S Jaishank himself mentioned this through a post on social media X.

What happened between the two leaders?

He wrote in the post on X – “I received a call from Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi. We discussed the changing situation in and around Iran.” However, he has not shared the complete details of the conversation. But the call received from Iran to the Foreign Minister of India may be a sign of worsening situation somewhere in the Middle East.

Foreign Ministry issued second advisory

Let us tell you that before this, the Indian Foreign Ministry has issued the second advisory in the last 10 days asking Indian citizens to leave Tehran immediately. Earlier, in an advisory issued on January 5, 2026, the Ministry of External Affairs had appealed to Indian citizens present in Iran to leave Iran through available transport. But today’s advisory is regarding the serious situation in Iran. In such a situation, Indian citizens have been asked to leave Iran immediately.

Situation is deteriorating rapidly in Iran

The situation in Iran has deteriorated rapidly in the last few days. The public has raised the alarm of rebellion against the Khamenei government. People have taken to the streets. Large scale demonstrations are taking place. There is news of the death of more than 2 thousand people in the action of Iranian military forces.
