Thalapathy Vijay starrer ‘Jana Nayagan’ was supposed to hit the screens on January 10. But due to CBFC’s delay in issuing the certificate, the movie has not been released till now due to the developments that took place after that. The case is in the court and there is a possibility that the release of the movie will be delayed even more. Opinions are also spreading that the movie will not be released until the Tamil Nadu assembly elections are over. Due to delay in the release of the movie, producer KVN has suffered huge losses and is still suffering. Along with them, theaters also suffered a loss of around 100 crores.

The movie ‘Jana Nayagan’ was supposed to release on January 10. This was the last movie of Dalpati Vijay. Thousands of people had booked tickets in advance to watch the movie in many places including Bangalore. But suddenly the release of the movie got postponed. This has given a huge blow to cinemas.

Tamil Nadu film business analyst Ramesh Bala spoke about this in an interview given to the media and said that because of the delay in the release of Dalpati Vijay’s movie, Tamil Nadu theaters have lost at least 100 crore rupees. Dalpati Vijay movies have brought bumper profits to theaters in recent years. Especially since ‘Jana Nayagan’ was the last movie, theaters were expecting a huge crowd. Advances were given and theaters lined up and waited. But the movie has not been released’ said Bala.

The case of CBFC’s refusal to certify the movie ‘Jana Nayagan’ has now been transferred to a single member bench of the High Court. But there the case will be further delayed. For this reason, the producers of the movie are now said to be withdrawing their petition to the High Court and have decided to send the movie to the Review Committee as previously judged by the CBFC.

If the film is sent back to the review committee, the film team has to accept all the cuts and mutes mentioned by the CBFC. But the benefit of this is that the films that have gone to the review committee must be given a certificate within 15 days. It is said that the film team has now taken the decision to send the film to the review committee due to the fear of delay in court hearings and orders.
