Starring Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee ‘Ghooskhor Pandat’ The movie created controversy even before its release. Netflix and the film team have decided to remove the teaser and all the promotional content of this movie from the internet after intense opposition and legal conflict. Central Govt Netflix News agency PTI reported that the agency has been instructed to remove the teaser of the film.
The action was taken on allegations of targeting a particular community and hurting religious and caste sentiments. The decision was taken after the title and plot of the film ‘Ghooskhor Pandat’ caused controversy. Earlier, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had directed the state police to register an FIR against the film crew. Also, a writ petition was also filed in the Delhi High Court seeking a stay on the release of the film.
Director Neeraj Pandey Clarification: Noting the growing outrage, director Neeraj Pandey released a statement on Instagram saying, ‘Our film is a fictional police drama. The word ‘Pandat’ is used only as a slang name for a fictional character. However, we understand that the sentiments of some viewers have been hurt by this title.
Manoj Bajpayee’s response: Actor Manoj Bajpayee, who played the role of a police officer named ‘Pandat’ in this movie, said, ‘It was not my intention to hurt any community. It is the story of a flawed man’s journey of conscience. I respect people’s feelings and concerns,’ X responded through his (Twitter) account.

Many expressed outrage that the name Pandat (Pandit) was used in the title of the film, which hurt the Brahmin community. That is why there is so much controversy.
