Bangalore Film Festival: Lost Land, Sabar Bonda, Vanya did not win the best film award

The 17th Bangalore International Film Festival provided a platform for movie lovers to watch hundreds of movies from home and abroad (Bengaluru Film Festival) Ended on Friday (February 6). Japan’s ‘Lost Land’, Marathi’s ‘Sabar Bonda’ and Kannada’s ‘Vanya’ have bagged the best film awards in the Asia, India and Kannada categories of the festival. The winner of the ‘Best Cinema’ award was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh.

5 lakhs for the winners of the second and third best film awards respectively. And 2 lakhs of Rs. was honored. A total of 15 movies were in the fray for the award this year in the Asian film category. Among these, Japan’s ‘Lost Land’ has won the best movie award. India’s ‘Shape of Momo’ and Japan’s ‘The Deepest Space in Us’ have bagged the second and third cinema awards. The film ‘Republic of Pipolipinas’ from the Philippines received special appreciation from the jury.

Marathi film ‘Sabar Bonda’ bagged the best film award in the Indian (Chitrabharati) category. Malayalam films ‘Moham’ and ‘Kadu’ won second and third film awards respectively. Marathi film ‘Gondaal’ won the Fipresky Award, while Malayalam film ‘Circuit’ won Special Jury Appreciation.

This time 14 movies competed in the Kannada competition category. Among these, ‘Vanya’ won the best award. ‘Num Saali’ and ‘Ravana State New Couple’ have been selected as the second and third best films respectively. Netpack Jury Award for ‘Hakkigagi’. The films ‘Mrigatrishna’ and ‘Four By Four’ received special recognition from the judges.

More than 300 best movies from 70 countries, the best movies that participated in the world’s prestigious film festivals were screened in this film festival. This film festival is held every year with a meaningful motto, this time National Poet Dr. G.S. It was celebrated with the tag line ‘Stree Sensation, Voice of Equality’ with a line from Shivrudrappa’s famous song ‘Stree Is Adha Sake’.
