Bihar: 6 year old innocent murdered after rape in Darbhanga, violence erupts in the area

What is the case of rape and murder?

According to Darbhanga University Police Station, the 6-year-old innocent girl was missing since late Saturday evening. The family members were continuously searching for him. When the family got suspicious due to the barking of stray dogs, the girl’s blood-soaked body was found on the banks of the pond. After this the family members started creating ruckus and the police were informed about the incident. After this, on Sunday, people protested on the streets and also started arson at many places.

Protestors pelted stones at the police

The protesters blocked many roads in the area. Due to this the traffic system was disrupted. When the police tried to remove the people, they pelted stones. Many policemen also got injured in this. Later the police also resorted to lathicharge to control the situation. After this the protesters were removed from the spot and additional police forces were deployed. The protesters are adamant on demanding the strictest action against the accused.

How was the accused identified?

As soon as the information was received, the University police station in-charge reached the spot. After that Darbhanga Senior Additional Superintendent of Police (SASP) Jagarnath Reddy also arrived. FSL and Cyber ​​Cell teams along with police from many police stations also reached them. Police investigation revealed that the girl was raped by her 22-year-old neighbor Vikas Mahato and then murdered and fled from the spot. After that the police started searching for him.

How did the accused carry out the incident?

SASP Reddy said that investigation revealed that three girls were playing on the banks of the pond. During that time, the accused picked up the innocent girl and took her into the dark. He first raped her and then murdered her. During this time, two girls ran away from there. He said that during investigation, two girls recognized the face of the accused in the CCTV footage. After this the police arrested Vikas. Blood stains were found on his clothes.
