Rajamouli had earlier said that the movie ‘Varanasi’ will have a travel adventure story. It was said that the story of Ramayana will also be in the movie, now Rajamouli has confirmed this, even in the teaser there are some scenes related to Ramayana. Actually shooting scenes related to Ramayana was very difficult for Rajamouli.

Speaking in an interview, Rajamouli said, ‘There are scenes related to Ramayana in the movie. These scenes are about 25 minutes long and shooting those scenes was very challenging and equally exciting,’ said Rajamouli. ‘That 25 minute scene does not come all at once in the movie but comes and goes many times and finally transforms into an amazing action scene. So those scenes are very important for the sake of the story and for the sake of the movie,” said Rajamouli.

Even though it was only a 25 minute scene, we took exactly 60 days to shoot it. Many Indian movies are inspired by Mahabharata and Ramayana. But we have shot a part of Ramayana for the movie ‘Varanasi’,’ said Rajamouli.

Mahesh Babu played the role of Rama in the movie ‘Varanasi’. Priyanka Chopra is the heroine of the movie. Prithviraj Sukumaran acted as the villain of the movie.
