New Delhi: The opposition can now bring a no-confidence motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. According to sources, opposition parties have started preparations. In fact, the very beginning of the budget session has been quite uproarious. After the President’s address, the proceedings of the House were disrupted every day after the discussion on the motion of thanks and the Speaker had to adjourn the proceedings of the Lok Sabha. Eight opposition MPs were also suspended for disrupting the functioning of the House. According to sources, almost all the opposition parties have agreed to bring a no-confidence motion against the Speaker and are preparing to submit a notice to the Lok Sabha General Secretary soon.
According to sources, there is a demand from the opposition to allow Rahul Gandhi to speak in the Lok Sabha. During the discussion on the motion of thanks on the President’s address, Rahul Gandhi read some excerpts from the unpublished book of former Army Chief MM Naravane and raised the issue of the standoff in Ladakh with China. On behalf of the Chair, it was said that it is not appropriate to read an excerpt from an unpublished book. There was a lot of uproar over this. There was a demand from the opposition to allow Rahul Gandhi to speak. At the same time, the opposition is also demanding withdrawal of suspension of 8 MPs. Due to the uproar in Parliament, 8 opposition MPs were suspended.
