New Delhi: The opposition can now bring a no-confidence motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. According to sources, opposition parties have started preparations. In fact, the very beginning of the budget session has been quite uproarious. After the President’s address, the proceedings of the House were disrupted every day after the discussion on the motion of thanks and the Speaker had to adjourn the proceedings of the Lok Sabha. At the same time, the opposition has also been accusing the speaker of discrimination.

According to sources, now the opposition parties have started preparations to bring a no-confidence motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Even today, before the commencement of Lok Sabha proceedings, all the opposition leaders had reached the house of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge where they had a meeting.

In the budget session, the dispute between the ruling party and the opposition increased so much that Prime Minister Modi could not even respond to the discussion on the motion of thanks on the President’s address. The opposition, especially Congress women MPs, surrounded his seat due to which he had to postpone his speech.

Seeing the attitude of the opposition during the budget session, the Speaker repeatedly tried to convince them but the opposition MPs continued to create ruckus and the functioning of the House continued to be disrupted. Eight opposition MPs were also suspended for disrupting the functioning of the House. At the same time, the opposition has repeatedly accused the Speaker that he gives opportunity to the ruling party to speak but not to the opposition. According to sources, almost all the opposition parties have agreed to bring a no-confidence motion against the Speaker and are preparing to submit a notice to the Lok Sabha General Secretary soon.

According to sources, there is a demand from the opposition to allow Rahul Gandhi to speak in the Lok Sabha. During the discussion on the motion of thanks on the President’s address, Rahul Gandhi read some excerpts from the unpublished book of former Army Chief MM Naravane and raised the issue of the standoff in Ladakh with China. On behalf of the Chair, it was said that it is not appropriate to read an excerpt from an unpublished book. There was a lot of uproar over this. There was a demand from the opposition to allow Rahul Gandhi to speak. At the same time, the opposition is also demanding withdrawal of suspension of 8 MPs. Due to the uproar in Parliament, 8 opposition MPs were suspended.
