A vicious thief who stole goods worth crores of rupees in Karnataka’s capital Bengaluru has been caught by the police. Police have arrested the thief wanted in 4 theft cases. According to the information, this vicious thief had stolen approximately Rs 2.25 crore. Byappanahalli police has arrested an accused involved in incidents of night theft. 1 kg 232 grams of gold jewelery has been recovered from it which was stolen.

Was searching for the thief for a long time

The thief arrested by the police has been identified as Raja. The police was searching for this thief for a long time. Last year, on October 20, 2025, a resident of NGEF Layout, Sadanand Nagar had lodged a complaint that on October 18, 2025, the family had gone to their village from Bengaluru, that night there was theft in their house. The thief had fled after stealing 783 grams of gold and Rs 8 lakh in cash.

How was the thief caught?

After this incident of theft, local intelligence was activated by the police. After this, the accused was caught from Abbigere on January 4. During interrogation he confessed to the crime. On January 5, the thief was produced in the court after which he was given 28 days police custody. The accused told that he had sold the stolen gold to some shops and individuals. Between January 9 and February 6, 2026, police have recovered gold, vehicles and mobile phones.

4 theft cases solved

With this arrest of the vicious thief by Bengaluru Police, a total of 4 theft cases have been solved. Of these theft cases, 3 cases are from Byappanahalli police station and 1 case is from Ramamurthy Nagar police station. Further investigation is being done by the police in the matter.
