Don’t take ‘lice’ lightly! 12 year old girl dies due to excessive head lice

Puri: A very shocking incident has come to light from Puri district of Odisha, which has shocked the entire area. A 12-year-old girl, resident of Champagada Sahi village of Balanga police station area, died due to serious problem of lice. This incident is not only a story of the loss of an innocent life, but also a warning of the dangerous consequences of negligence and not getting timely treatment.

The girl was suffering from head lice problem

The deceased girl has been identified as Lakshmi Priya Sahu. She was the daughter of Lingaraj Sahu and a student of class six. According to the family, Lakshmi Priya was suffering from severe head lice problem for the last several months. Initially it was ignored as a normal problem, but with time the number of lice increased and started causing severe damage to his scalp.

Mother advised me to shave my head

Lakshmi’s mother had reportedly advised her several times to shave her head to get rid of lice, but the girl refused. Gradually the condition worsened so much that wounds formed on the head and the infection spread. Due to the infection, a strong odor started emanating from his head, due to which he stopped going out of the house due to shyness.

Health deteriorated due to spread of infection

Mother says that three days ago Lakshmi’s health suddenly worsened. He started vomiting and started vomiting blood. Panicked family members immediately took him to Puri District Headquarters Hospital. Doctors started treating him in the hospital, but by then the infection had spread a lot. Despite all efforts, he died during treatment.

Negligence caused death

Lakshmi Priya’s death has made it clear how dangerous it can be to take any problem related to children’s health lightly. Timely cleaning, proper advice and medical treatment could probably have saved the life of an innocent child. This incident has emerged as a bitter but important lesson for all parents and society.
