Changes in central contracts of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, included in Grade-B

What is the news?

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the players’ central contracts (2025-26), in which Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been placed in Grade-B. This time BCCI has made changes in the contracts for male and female players. This time A+ category has been removed from both the categories. Only 3 players in the men’s team have been kept in Grade-A. Let’s take a look at the list.

These 3 Indian players got place in Grade-A

This time BCCI has given central contracts to a total of 30 senior male cricketers. In the list released by BCCI, only Shubman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja have been kept in Grade-A. Let us tell you that Gill is the captain of India in ODI and Test formats, while Bumrah is one of the players playing in all three formats. At the same time, Jadeja has retired from T-20 International and is an integral part of the ODI and Test team.

These players were included in Grade-B

This time BCCI has kept 11 players in Grade-B. Apart from Kohli and Rohit, this grade includes Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Washington Sundar, Mohammed Siraj, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer and Kuldeep Yadav. Let us tell you that Pant, Siraj, Pandya and Rahul were part of Grade-A in the previous contract. In such a situation, changes have also been seen in the contracts of these major players.

Maximum 16 players got contracts in Grade-C

BCCI has kept maximum 16 players in Grade-C. Axar Patel, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Tilak Verma, Rinku Singh, Shivam Dubey, Sanju Samson, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Akashdeep Singh, Dhruv Jurel, Varun Chakraborty, Nitish Reddy, Sai Sudarshan, Ravi Bishnoi, Abhishek Sharma and Harshit Rana have been included in this grade. On the other hand, Mohammed Shami, Rajat Patidar, Safarfaraz Khan, and Mukesh Kumar have not got contracts this time.

Grade-B: Renuka Thakur, Shafali Verma, Richa Ghosh, and Sneh Rana.
Grade-C: Radha Yadav, Amanjot Kaur, Pratika Rawal, Kranti Gaur, Uma Chhetri, Arundhati Reddy, Sri Charani, Yastika Bhatia, Harleen Deol, Kashvi Gautam, G Kamalini, Vaishnavi Sharma and Tejal Hassabnis.
