New Delhi: The notice of no-confidence motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has been sent to the Secretariat by the opposition parties. This notice has signatures of 118 MPs. The interesting thing is that the signature of opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, who opened the front against the government, is not in this notice. At the same time, TMC MPs have also not signed the notice of no-confidence motion.

accused of discrimination

According to the information, under Article 94 (c) of the Constitution, the opposition has given notice of this proposal to the Lok Sabha Secretariat. Opposition MPs have accused the speaker of discrimination. Four points are mentioned in the resolution to remove the opposition speaker.

  1. Allegation of stopping opposition leader Rahul Gandhi from speaking in the House on 2 February.
  2. The matter of suspension of eight MPs on February 3 is also in this notice.
  3. On February 4, the ruling party MP made objectionable remarks against two former Prime Ministers but was not stopped even after the opposition’s objection.
  4. Comments made by the Speaker regarding opposition women MPs.

A total of 118 MPs have signed this proposal but TMC MPs have not supported it. The MPs who brought the no-confidence motion say that they personally respect the Speaker but his attitude has been discriminatory. The Lok Sabha Speaker directed the Secretary General-Lok Sabha to examine the notice and take appropriate action.

The opposition wants to give a message

Congress MP Mohammad Javed said that if we do not have the numbers then what, the opposition wants to give a message. We are not like this government that if we say that someone has a bigger economy than us then we cannot fight with them. We were not allowed to speak in Parliament. Chairs are expected to behave as they should.

On Rahul Gandhi not signing the no-confidence motion, he said that Rahul ji did not sign but 118 MPs signed it. On the question of TMC, he said that TMC MPs do not have signatures, but they are with us.
