Former England cricket team batsman Ian Bell is now going to be seen as an assistant coach in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Actually, Delhi Capitals (DC) has appointed Bell as its assistant coach before IPL 2026. The franchise confirmed this through its social media on Tuesday (February 10). Let us tell you that apart from the franchise league, Bell has also coached with international teams.

Bell’s international career was like this

Bell played 118 matches in his Test career, scoring 7,727 runs at an average of 42.69. Meanwhile, he had scored 22 centuries and 46 half-centuries. He scored 5,416 runs in 161 ODIs at an average of 37.87 and strike rate of 77.16. During this period he also scored 4 centuries. He also represented the English team in 8 T-20 Internationals, in which he scored 188 runs at an average of 26.85.

Bell’s coaching experience has been like this

Since retiring in 2020, Bell has worked as a coach. He has previously served as the batting coach of the England Under-19 and England Lions teams, assistant coach at Hobart Hurricanes, consultant batting coach at Derbyshire and assistant coach of the New Zealand men’s team ahead of the 2023 ODI World Cup. Apart from these, he has also coached in Big Bash League and The Hundred.
