BJP MLA B Basavaraj arrested in murder case, caught by police from Bengaluru airport, know the whole matter

Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Byrati Basavaraj has been arrested by the police from Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. According to the information, the MLA was returning from Ahmedabad to Bengaluru. Let us tell you that after the anticipatory bail application of Bayarati Basavaraj was rejected in the murder case, first in the High Court and on Thursday in the Supreme Court, his arrest was considered certain. In which case was the arrest made?

According to the information, BJP MLA from KR Puram assembly seat of Karnataka Byrati Basavaraj has been arrested in connection with the murder of real estate agent and rowdy-sheeter Shivprakash alias Bikalu Shiva. A team of CID officers arrested him at Kempegowda International Airport.

What is the allegation against Vidyar?

Let us tell you that 40 year old Shivprakash was murdered in front of his house in Bharti Nagar on July 15, 2025 by several assailants. It was said to be a case of land dispute. Police had made BJP MLA accused number 4 in this case. This murder was allegedly done on the instructions of the MLA. This allegation was made by the family of the deceased Shivprakash and during the investigation also the police found evidence of this. On February 10, the Karnataka High Court had also rejected the MLA’s anticipatory bail plea in this case.

Should face trial – Supreme Court

According to the information given by Bar and Bench, the Supreme Court refused to hear the petition of anticipatory bail of BJP MLA B Basavaraj. The bench of Supreme Court CJI Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi has suggested the MLA to apply for regular bail. The Supreme Court has told the MLA that “You are a public servant, hence you should show courage and face the trial.”
