Telangana Municipal Election Results 2026 LIVE Updates: Counting of votes for 116 municipalities and seven municipal corporations in Telangana will begin at 8 am on Friday. The State Election Commission (TSEC) has started the counting with tight security at the counting centres, where results for a total of 2,996 wards are being declared. According to the Election Commission, voting took place on Wednesday. A total of 73.01% voting took place.
Elections have been held on party basis in all 116 municipalities and seven municipal corporations. The authorities had deployed 29,656 booth level officers for the revision of voter lists.
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had cast his vote at Kodangal in Vikarabad district. Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar had cast his vote in Karimnagar. State Congress president B Mahesh Kumar Goud has claimed victory for the Congress, while BJP leader and Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy has guaranteed the party’s victory despite the allegations against the ruling party. This result is like a test for Congress, BJP and BRS.
There is a fight between these major parties
The main contest is being seen between the ruling Congress, former ruling Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) and BJP. Exit polls showed Congress in a strong position, but BRS and BJP have also presented a good challenge in many areas. AIMIM candidates are also looking strong at some places.
