Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated party president Tariq Rahman on the victory of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in the national parliamentary elections of Bangladesh. He wrote on Twitter that this victory shows the confidence of the people of Bangladesh in the leadership of BNP. He has talked about supporting the democratic country Bangladesh. Modi wrote that he looks forward to working with Tariq to strengthen relations.

BNP crossed the majority mark

Tariq Rahman’s BNP has crossed the majority mark in the 13th parliamentary elections of Bangladesh. Tariq himself has won from both his seats. Elections were held on 299 seats in Bangladesh, out of which BNP has won more than 166 seats and is leading on many. The radical Jamaat-e-Islam has so far won 56 seats. Many parties, including the Nationalist Citizen Party (NCP) of the agitating students, lost badly.
