Breaking: Heart attack in the film chamber: Veteran director Joe Simon passes away

Veteran director of Kannada cinema (Sandalwood) Joe Simon has passed away suddenly. Joe Simon suffered a heart attack while participating in a meeting organized at Film Chamber and was immediately admitted to the nearby Mallige Hospital. But Joe Simon breathed his last without responding to treatment. He was 80 years old. Joe Simon has worked in more than 100 Kannada movies. He has served the Kannada film industry as a director, actor and lyricist.

Joe Simon, who started directing movies in 1977, first directed ‘Yuk Premada Katha’, Joe Simon has given several action and love story movies to Kannada. Joe Simon, who was close friends with Vishnuvardhan and Ambarish, has directed many more movies like ‘Sinha Jodi’, ‘Sahasa Simha’, ‘Agent Amar in Hong Kong’, ‘Snehada Kadalalli’, ‘Ravivarma’, ‘Time Bomb’.

Originally from Mandya, Joe Simon directed and acted in several films and was also active in film related organizations. He also held some important posts in the Kannada Film Association. Today (February 13) he also felt chest pain while participating in an executive meeting organized at Film Chamber. He was rushed to Mallige Hospital but did not survive.
