A massive explosion occurred in a chemical factory in Karnataka, two workers died; many injured

Mandya: The big news of this time has come from Mandya district of Karnataka. Here a chemical storage tank exploded in a factory located near Karekatte village. Two people have died in this accident, while four people are said to be seriously injured. Police have now started investigation into the matter and have lodged a First Information Report (FIR) at Basralu police station. After the incident, the contractor has been identified as Guddu Khan, who has absconded and the search for him is on.

The factory was being shifted to another place

It is being told that the explosion occurred when the chemical factory was being shifted to another place. According to police sources, two laborers died on the spot and the other injured have been admitted to Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences. Police said that the factory goods were being moved from Karakatte to the new place for some time. Meanwhile, this accident happened while emptying the chemical tank on Sunday. Police say that investigation into the matter is ongoing. All the people who died were residents of Bihar.

Gas has leaked before too

At the same time, local people have raised questions on the safety record of the factory. He says that in the year 2022, there was a leakage of poisonous gas, due to which the nearby crops were damaged and two dogs died. He said that this incident also had a negative impact on the health of the people living nearby. The operation of the factory was stopped after strong protests by farmers and local people and intervention of the local MLA and the district administration. It is being told that for this reason the owners had decided to shift the factory to another place.
