What is the news?

AI Impact Summit 2026 has started today (16 February). Lakhs of people from all over the world are going to participate in this big program related to Artificial Intelligence (AI). This summit is being organized from 16 to 20 February at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. It is being considered as the first major AI summit to be held in the Global South, where more than 100 countries are participating.

Emphasis on policy and direction on the first day

Keynote speeches, panel discussions and expert roundtables are being organized on the first day of the summit. The main objective of this day is to set national priorities for Artificial Intelligence and make a clear strategy for the coming years. Representatives from different countries, policy makers and tech experts are coming together to consider responsible and inclusive AI framework. AI Impact Expo has also started. Here startups, innovators and government organizations are presenting their projects and solutions.

second day

Second day: Special focus on health, education and gender

On February 17, on the second day of the summit, knowledge collections based on the use of AI in areas related to health, energy, education, agriculture, gender empowerment and persons with disabilities will be released. There will be a special seminar on Applied AI in the Bharat Mandapam, where experts will discuss the use of the technology at the grassroots level. ‘AI by HER’ Global Impact Challenge will be organized at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, in which the participation of women leaders and the role of AI in social equality will be discussed in detail.

third day

Day 3: Bridge between research and industry

A research symposium will be organized on the third day on February 18, in which scholars and policy experts from all over the world will participate. There will be discussions on evidence-based policies, new technological discoveries and responsible AI models. Also, big tech companies and startups will present their solutions and projects in the industry session. The next phase of ‘AI by HER’ challenge will also be held on the same day. A summit dinner has been organized in the evening, where international representatives will discuss mutual cooperation.

Day 4: Global leadership and investment discussion

The summit will reach its diplomatic and commercial peak on 19 February. The day will begin with a formal opening ceremony, followed by a Leaders Plenary where national and international leaders will discuss shared commitments. There will be special focus on India’s role and future strategy. There will also be a high-level CEO roundtable on the same day, where global industrialists, investors and policymakers will discuss in detail responsible AI, investment opportunities and new avenues of partnership.

Day five: Global governance and joint declaration

The summit will conclude on February 20 with a focus on global governance and multilateral cooperation. The GPAI Council meeting will be held on this day, in which member countries will review the progress in the development of responsible and inclusive AI. The concluding session is expected to adopt a Leader’s Declaration, which will set a shared framework for global AI policy, cooperation and the future. With this the five-day program will formally end.
