Global Impact Summit on Artificial Intelligence is going on in Delhi. People and companies from more than 100 countries are participating in this five-day conference. This AI summit will be attended by French President Emmanuel Macron, Brazilian President Lula da Silva, two former British Prime Ministers Tony Blair and Rishi Sunak.
The leaders of Switzerland, Spain, Slovakia, Serbia, Croatia, Estonia, Netherlands, Finland, Greece, Mauritius, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Kazakhstan, as well as Bolivia, Guyana and Seychelles will also attend. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will also address the AI Summit.
Earlier, France and South Korea have organized such conferences. This is the first time that the Global AI Impact Summit is being held in a developing country.
CEOs of hundreds of companies working in the Artificial Intelligence sector have also arrived. These include Open AI founder Sam Altman, Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Microsoft founder Bill Gates.
This time India has kept the theme of AI Summit as ‘Sarvajan Hitaya, Sarvajan Sukhaay’. Its purpose is to emphasize on the use of Artificial Intelligence for the benefit of common man. India has always been emphasizing on the ethical and public welfare use of AI. In this summit, India will present its progress in the field of Artificial Intelligence to the world.
Political and business leaders from all over the world will be shown how much potential there is in a country like India in the field of AI and how many data centers and how many large language models India is preparing to create AI infrastructure, how AI is being used in India in administration, health, defense and other areas.
I believe that the most important thing is to use AI to solve problems that arise in everyday life. Don’t be intimidated by defining it with heavy words.
For example, if AI is used for traffic control, to provide relief from traffic jams on roads, for emergency services, for monitoring public welfare schemes, for providing weather information to farmers, for real time data processing, then everyone will benefit.
The accuracy of AI software in finance and accounting tasks is amazing. Goldman Sachs has prepared this AI software. Earlier software companies used to do coding work, now AI does this work very easily. That is why there is a need to ensure that people do not become unemployed because of AI.
AI has done amazing work in some areas. An AI device has been prepared on immunotherapy which is proving effective in the treatment of cancer. London Police has prepared AI software based on facial recognition technology. The culprits committing crimes against women were monitored through AI and in one month, 105 criminals were caught before they could commit the crime.
Similarly, Medical Sciences University of UP has prepared an AI tool, which will scan the face and tell the health condition in 20 seconds. An article has been published in Nature magazine, in which it was told that Stanford University has prepared an AI tool, which will monitor the sleep of any person for a day, and will tell in advance about the risk of 130 diseases.
One thing to note is that India is far behind in AI software. That is why now our focus is on hardware, on building data centers and on creating an ecosystem in which more and more people can be involved in the use of AI and development of AI. Everyone should have AI, it should be for everyone. (Rajat Sharma)
