Who is Bhupen Bora?

Know that Bhupen Bora had resigned from the Congress Party on February 16, 2026. According to Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, Bhupen Bora will soon formally join BJP. Bora has been the Chief of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee i.e. APCC from 2021 to 2025. Apart from this, he has won the legislative election twice from Bihpuria seat.

Was also a member of AICC

Bhupen Bora has also been a part of All India Congress Committee i.e. AICC. Bora has also served as Secretary of AICC and Parliamentary Secretary in the Government of Assam. He has broken his years-long relationship with the Congress due to his being sidelined and dissatisfaction with the functioning of the Congress.

Honored with Best MLA Award

It is noteworthy that Bhupen Bora was MLA from 2006 to 2016. Bora was honored with the Best MLA Award for his work during his legislative tenure. He has good influence among the people of the area.
