Today’s weather: Warning of rain and hail in 7 states including Haryana

New Delhi: Due to Western Disturbance, the weather pattern is going to change in many states of the country today. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain and snowfall is expected in the Western Himalayan region on Wednesday i.e. today. The Meteorological Department also said that during this period, there is a possibility of light rain, thundershowers and lightning in the plains of Northwest India. There may be rain and thunder in many states including Delhi-NCR, Punjab and Haryana.

Chances of rain today in these states of the country

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light rain or snowfall in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh on February 18 and in Uttarakhand on February 18 and 19. There may be light rain in West Uttar Pradesh on February 18. Apart from this, along with rain, hailstorm is also expected at some places in Punjab, Haryana and East Rajasthan on February 18. During this period, strong winds can blow at a speed of 30–40 km. There is a possibility of rain and lightning in western Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday. There are chances of light rain in Delhi-NCR also.

Temperature is increasing in these states

In fact, the temperature is gradually increasing in many states of North India including Delhi. Minimum temperatures between 7-12°C are being recorded in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Odisha, Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya. Temperature will be between 12-15°C in Rajasthan, Saurashtra and Kutch, Central Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Gangetic West Bengal, Northeast India. Minimum temperatures are being recorded above normal in Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Kerala and Mahe.

Temperature reached 36.4 degrees in Kerala

The lowest minimum temperature of 8.2 degrees Celsius was observed in Banda (East Uttar Pradesh) in the plains of India. At the same time, in the plains of India, the highest maximum temperature of 36.4 degrees Celsius was seen in Kochi (Kerala). Odisha, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Assam and Meghalaya are recording maximum temperatures around 30-35 degrees Celsius.

How will the weather be in other parts of the country?

The Meteorological Department said that the maximum temperature in many parts of the western Himalayan region and the plains of north-west India will be 3-5°C above normal. Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya, Gujarat, Coastal Karnataka will see 2-3°C and rest of the country will be almost normal. The minimum temperature over northwest India may gradually increase by 2°C in the next 24 hours. At least there will be no significant change in the temperature in the rest of the country.

The Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of dense fog in the morning at some places in Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam till February 19. This means that it is very cold in these areas.
