Big information is coming out regarding the Citizenship Amendment Act i.e. CAA. The Supreme Court has fixed the date of hearing on various petitions filed against CAA. According to the information, the Supreme Court will start hearing these petitions from May 5. According to the information, CJI Surya Kant has fixed the date for hearing on the petitions filed. The court also made it clear that it will hear the cases of Assam and Tripura separately.
What is the whole matter?
In fact, Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) and 250 others have filed a petition demanding a ban on the CAA law. IUML has said in the petition that the CAA law is unconstitutional and discriminatory against Muslims. IUML claims that the provisions of the CAA law are arbitrary and give unfair advantage to a section on the basis of religious identity alone, which is a violation of Articles 14 and 15 of the Constitution.

According to the information, the Supreme Court will now start the final hearing on the petitions challenging the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) 2019 from May 5. The Supreme Court said that this case will be completed in due time. The Supreme Court said that the arguments of the petitioners will be heard on May 5. His talk will continue for half a day on May 6. The government’s side will be heard on the remaining half day of May 6 and May 7. If necessary, on May 12, the petitioners will get a chance to reply. The court said that both the parties will be given full opportunity.
Hearing will be held separately on Assam and Tripura
The Supreme Court has said that the cases related to Assam and Tripura are separate, hence they will be heard separately after the main case. The court says that the issues related to these states are different, so it would be right to hear them separately.
