Patna High Court of Bihar has issued notice on Thursday to 42 MLAs who won the elections this time. Everyone is accused of giving false information in the elections. The High Court has taken this step while hearing several petitions filed by the defeated candidates. The MLAs have been accused of giving false and incomplete information in their election affidavits during the assembly elections. There are also allegations of alleged irregularities against the MLAs.
Court sought answers to the allegations
The petitions allege that the Vijay candidates have given incorrect and incomplete information regarding assets, educational qualifications and date of birth in their affidavits. Despite this, the Election Commission allowed him to contest the elections without proper investigation. On the petitions, the High Court said that it is necessary to submit the affidavit correctly and giving wrong information in it is a serious matter. The court has asked all the MLAs to file replies on the allegations.
Assembly Speaker and many ministers also participated
The 42 MLAs to whom the court has issued notice include Bihar Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar, Finance and Energy Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav, former minister Jivesh Mishra, MLA Chetan Anand and Goh MLA Amarendra Prasad. The petitioners have filed the suit against the victorious MLAs in the respective constituencies, which include MLAs from both the party and the opposition.
