There has been a stir after the dead body of an elderly British tourist was found in a hotel room in Lower Kaithu area of Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. According to the police, an 86-year-old British citizen was found unconscious in his room late on Friday night, after which he was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared the elderly man brought dead.
According to the information given to the police, hotel owner Suryavanshi informed late on Friday night that a foreign guest staying in room number 103 of his hotel was not responding. As soon as the information was received, a special team led by the Deputy Superintendent of Police immediately reached the spot. The deceased has been identified as Barry Alvin Moss (86).

During preliminary investigation, the hotel staff said that the room of the elderly tourist was locked from inside. When no response was received from inside even after knocking on the door for a long time and calling several times, the hotel management became worried. After this, the employees opened the door with the spare key and saw that Barry Alvin Moss was lying unconscious on the floor.

The police team immediately took the elderly man to IGMC hospital, but by then he had died. Police have closely inspected the incident site and after collecting evidence, room number 103 has been sealed. The body has been kept safe in the hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
Police officials said that the British Embassy has been officially informed regarding this incident.
