Senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar has given a big statement regarding Rahul Gandhi. He has advised Rahul Gandhi to leave the command of India alliance. Iyer has said that Rahul Gandhi should leave the command of India alliance and give it to Mamata Banerjee, Stalin, Akhilesh Yadav or Tejashwi Yadav. This will strengthen the alliance and these leaders will be able to devote a lot of time to the alliance.
Mani Shankar’s statement has come at a time when questions are being raised about Rahul’s leadership in the India alliance. Mamta Banerjee is maintaining distance from the alliance. At the same time, Akhilesh Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav are also not giving much attention to Rahul.
‘Leave command for Akhilesh, Tejashwi, Stalin’
Mani Shankar Aiyar said, “Without Mamata Didi, the ‘I’, ‘N’, ‘D’, ‘I’ and all will be removed from the INDIA Alliance because Mamata Banerjee is the leader of this alliance and there are two-four more people who can achieve this post. I hope that instead of Rahul Gandhi trying to stay on the same post, he should appoint someone else from smaller parties, be it Stalin, Mamta Didi, Akhilesh, Tejashwi or anyone else, and if someone else takes charge, he will have more time to run the alliance.
Congress leaders raised questions
This statement of Iyer has created a stir before the Bengal Assembly elections. West Bengal Congress leaders have reacted strongly to Aiyar’s remarks. Congress General Secretary Suman Roy Chowdhury said that Aiyar has been away from active politics of the party for a long time and his statement is not the official opinion of the party. He further said, “Manishankar ji, do you know that Mamata Banerjee works behind the scenes like a puppet of BJP, against whom INDIA Bloc is fighting? I don’t think that after staying away from the party, you have any part in taking any decision of the Congress party.
