YRF rejects 215 crore offer to trust Alia Bhatt

Yash Raj Films, a prestigious production house of Bollywood, is making big budget movies one after the other. Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Jr. NTR are pouring thousands of crores of money on the big budget movies of superstar actors one after the other. Yash Raj Films, which has been investing in big-budget action movies and spy movies, is now producing female-led spy thriller movies with Alia Bhatt as the lead. The movie is titled ‘Alpha’. Even though an offer of 215 crores was received for this movie, Yash Raj Films rejected it.

Netflix has offered to buy the digital rights of Alia Bhatt and Sharwari Wagh starrer ‘Alpha’. A huge amount was proposed for this. It was said that this offer was given to stream directly on OTT without releasing it in theatres. An offer of Rs 215 crore was made for this. YRF chief Aditya Chopra has not only rejected this offer, but has stuck to the decision that the movie should hit the theaters first.

Aditya Chopra is said to have made this decision because of his faith in Alia Bhatt. But Bollywood box office pundits have put forward a slightly different opinion about this. Alia Bhatt’s previous action movie ‘Jigra’ was a box office hit like no other, despite having a good production value, story and characters, that movie didn’t run, not only that, even in OTT, people didn’t watch that movie. At that time, it was felt that Yash Raj Films would have benefited if they had accepted this big offer for the movie ‘Alpha’. Also, there have been rumors that Yash Raj Films’ ‘Tiger 3’ and ‘War 2’ have not been as successful as expected. In such a situation, dropping a huge amount like 215 crores is called overconfidence.

The shooting of the movie ‘Alpha’ has already been completed. The release of ‘Alpha’ has been delayed due to advanced VFX and post production works. The film, which was earlier slated for a December 2025 release, is now all set to release on April 17, 2026, and Alia Bhatt and Sharwari Wagh will soon jump into the promotions of the film.
