Hospital’s gross negligence… 6 month old baby’s finger cut off while removing dressing

A hair-raising case of medical negligence has come to light from Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka. Here, due to the negligence of the staff of a private hospital, an innocent 6-month-old child lost his finger. The police have registered a case against three hospital employees in the matter.

How did this horrific incident happen?

According to the information, the child was admitted to the hospital on February 19 due to high fever. On Tuesday, when the medical staff was removing the drip and dressing from his hand. Then while cutting the dressing, the staff was so careless that the scissors went straight on the finger of the child’s left hand, due to which a part of the finger got cut off.

After the finger was cut, the child groaned in pain and started bleeding heavily. The child was immediately shifted to the ICU in critical condition, where he is undergoing treatment. The condition of the innocent child is said to be stable at present, but this incident has left the family in deep shock.

Acting on the complaint of the child’s parents, the local police has registered an FIR against three staff members of the hospital. Considering the seriousness of the incident, the police has started investigation. If found guilty, legal action will be taken against the concerned staff and management.
