‘Devasasya’ completed shooting: movie starring 150 Siddhi artists

A press conference was held at this time. The film tells the story of our soil, which takes place in 1995.

Siddi Community Selvin Desai is playing an important role in this movie. He was driving a tractor in the town and got a chance to become a hero through this film. He acted after training for 2 years. Theater background Ahan Gowda and Bimbika J. Rao also played important roles. It is special that more than 150 Siddi artists have acted in this movie.

For the movie ‘Devasasya’, shooting was done for 93 days in a village set in 1995. Producer Ananthamurthy Hegde spoke about the film. ‘From the beginning I was very interested in cinema. So I am producing this movie. We shot mostly in Uttara Kannada. A wonderful, special sanjeevini plant is a god plant. We are lucky to have such a unique script. The director has worked hard for 3 years for this movie,’ he said.

Karthik Bhatt, who has worked as a writer for some movies and serials, is making the film ‘Devasasya’ as a director for the first time. ‘We are going to tell about the Siddi community living in the wild areas around Shirsi in the movie. This is a story that takes place between two towns,’ he said.

Actor Selvin Desai said, ‘I used to drive a tractor in town. The director came and asked me to act in the movie. I laughed as if someone like me could do it. Later, he took them and taught them acting and acting.’ The cast includes Prakash Belawadi, Pramod Shetty, Ayyappa Sharma, Ravi Mooruru, Manjunath Hegde, Geeta Siddhi.
