New Delhi/Tehran: America and Israel launched a massive attack on Iran in many areas including the capital Tehran on Saturday. After this, various speculations started regarding the location and health of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei. Israeli TV said in its report that it is very possible that Khamenei has died, but these reports were immediately denied by Iran. Dr. Abdul Majeed Hakim Elahi, representative of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in India, said, ‘The Supreme Leader is completely healthy and has no fear of America or anyone else.’

‘We are handling this situation, everything is fine’

Elahi further said, ‘The Supreme Leader will continue to act with his dignity and wisdom, and I am hopeful that we will win this war.’ Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in an interview with NBC News, ‘All high officials are alive. We are handling this situation, and everything is fine. Let us tell you that there have been reports that Iran’s Defense Minister Amir Nasirzadeh and Revolutionary Guards Commander Mohammad Pakpur have been killed in Israeli attacks. However, meanwhile, Iran’s Al-Alam TV reported that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei will soon talk to the people of Iran.

‘We were just talking when they attacked us’

Strongly condemning the attacks carried out by America and Israel, Elahi said, ‘We were talking and discussing so that a solution could be found through diplomatic means. We felt that very soon a good agreement would be reached between Iran and America. But unfortunately, today, in this holy month of Ramadan, Israel and America attacked Iran. They attacked civilians. They declared that they attacked some government state and government buildings, but this is not true, they attacked civilians. We condemn this attack on Iran. We hope that international law and the United Nations will stop this war.

Food items disappeared from shops in Tehran

Authorities in Iran turned a main highway linking the capital Tehran with northern Iran into a one-way route to handle heavy traffic. The agency said that the traffic going north from the capital is very heavy. In northern Tehran, shoppers flocked to supermarkets to buy bread and bottled water, but limited supplies of goods have left many items in shortage. There are long queues at gas stations across the city. State television showed footage from the Solimani Highway, a highway in Tehran, where heavy traffic was seen on the route from west to east.
