Congress further said, ‘For this reason, the ongoing conflict in West Asia is completely against our idea of ​​’Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, Mahatma Gandhi’s policy of non-violence and Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru’s policy of non-alignment.’ Congress expressed concern over the use of force to destabilize the governments in Iran and Venezuela. Congress said, ‘This violates the UN Charter, especially Article 2(4), which clearly prohibits the use or threat of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state.’

The targeted assassination of a sitting head of state is an attack on the spirit of these international rules. Sovereignty is unconditional, and political legitimacy cannot be created by force.’ Congress reiterated that the citizens of every country have the inalienable right to decide their own political future. The party said, ‘No external power has the right to change the government or decide the leader of any country. “Such action is imperialism and inconsistent with a true rules-based international order.”

40 days mourning on Khamenei’s death
