Singer Shreya Ghoshal clarified the ‘Chikni Chameli’ song controversy

Famous singer Shreya Ghoshal recently ‘Chikni Chameli’ (Chikni Chameli) The statement about similar songs caused a huge debate on social media. Some people trolled him for saying, ‘I will not sing such songs again’. Now Shreya Khadak has responded to all these trolls and made her stand clear. Shreya Ghoshal who recently participated in Raj Shamani’s podcast (Shreya Ghoshal)had expressed his displeasure over the over-sexualized portrayal of women in the film industry.

Shreya Ghoshal shares some embarrassing moments she faced in her career. ‘After Chikni Chameli became a hit, I got many offers for similar songs. One of my close music composers once asked me to sing a song with very vulgar lyrics like ‘Eat me as chicken’. Shreya Ghoshal said that I felt ashamed when I heard the lyrics and immediately rejected it.

Talking about the super hit song ‘Chikni Chameli’ from the movie ‘Agnipath’ in 2012, he said, ‘I was not that mature at that time. Didn’t fully understand what I was singing. The original lyrics of that song were still dark, then it was toned down to some extent,’ says Shreya.

People on social media asked ‘don’t you still sing the same song at concerts?’ He asked. Shreya’s answer to this is as follows. ‘I am proud of the song. I have no qualms about that song. I like it and it’s my own song. I will never deny that. But now I have changed. I will no longer record songs with such lyrics.’

‘Once a song becomes a hit, it has to be sung everywhere. I feel shy singing such songs in front of thousands of kids or watching them dance to it. That’s why I am more careful now,’ said Shreya Ghoshal.
