Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has given a big statement regarding the poor performance of the recently released film ‘The Kerala Story 2’ at the box office. He said that the film not being watched by the audience is a good news and it shows that the people of the country are now rejecting hate politics and propaganda. Rahul said that films which divide the society are no longer being accepted.
Rahul said- ‘The Kerala Story’ was rejected by the public
During a recent public interaction, when a student asked Rahul Gandhi a question on films and cinema becoming political propaganda, he said, “The good news is that the theaters of ‘The Kerala Story’ are seen empty and no one is watching it. This shows that most of the people of this country have a deep understanding of Kerala, its traditions and culture, hence the public is rejecting it.”

Rahul said, “Today film, TV and media are being used as weapons to defame people and widen the gap in the society.” He alleges that an atmosphere of hatred is being created for the benefit of some people. He said that today if someone expresses his views or supports any idea, he is attacked and his voice is suppressed. According to Rahul, he himself experiences this all the time.

Attacking the game of discourse going on in the country, Rahul said that certain stories and propaganda are being deliberately promoted in India. He said that while those speaking the truth are being suppressed, some stories are being given freedom to spread without any restrictions. Rahul alleges that huge money is being used to take it forward, which is harmful for the democratic structure.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also gave a sharp reaction to the sequel. The Chief Minister described it as inspired by the ‘agenda of spreading hatred against Kerala’. Emphasizing the seriousness of the issue, he said that such films are being made only with the aim of creating division in the society.
