Thiruvananthapuram: If Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was not in politics, what would he be doing? Has this question also come to your mind? So Rahul Gandhi himself has cleared this confusion and told what he would have been doing if he was not in politics.
What did Rahul tell?
Rahul Gandhi, who was on a 2-day visit to Kerala, said that if he had not been in politics, he might have been involved in some entrepreneurship in the aerospace sector. He said that if he had not been working for a political organisation, he would have been doing entrepreneurship. This venture would have been in the field of aerospace.
Rahul also said that I am a pilot. My father and uncle were also pilots. Rahul said that we should be curious about everything. You should keep an open mind.
How can India compete with China?
Rahul Gandhi said, “Policies have to be made based on the changes taking place in the world. How did America and Britain become powerful? They gained power by controlling transportation. The British controlled steam engines and coal. They built the navy and controlled trade routes. The Americans later did something similar with petroleum.
He said, “Who dominates technologies today? It is neither India, nor America, nor Europe. There is China. This is a big problem for us, because we are one of the few countries that has the capacity to make this transition. I believe that with the right policies and vision, India can compete with China.”
He said, “Our entire system is basically under the control of three-four businesses. They do not produce anything; they mainly help in selling products which harm our local producers. You take the example of GST, GST hurts producers. There are fundamental issues. You make a GST which kills small and medium industries, and then later think, “Why are we not creating any jobs?”
