PM Modi heartily congratulated the Indian team on its victory in the T20 World Cup 2026. He said that India’s victory reflects strong determination and teamwork. Praising the entire team, he wrote that this victory has filled the heart of every Indian with happiness. Home Minister Amit Shah also praised the players wholeheartedly. He wrote that congratulations to the entire team for making every Indian feel proud.
India won the T20 World Cup 2026 tournament for the third time by defeating New Zealand by 96 runs in the final. Earlier, Team India had won the T20 World Cup under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni in 2007 and Rohit Sharma in 2024. Now India became T20 champion for the third time under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav.

Sanju became man of the match
Batting first after losing the toss, India scored 255 runs losing five wickets. In response, the Kiwi team was reduced to 159 runs in 19 overs.
