SHE Conclave was organized by India TV. SP MP from Kairana seat Iqra Hasan and Lok Sabha MP from Chirag Paswan’s party LJPR Shambhavi Chaudhary are participating in this program. On this special occasion, the MP from Samastipur while talking about her political journey said, “My journey till coming to Delhi has been a long one. I have seen the spirit of service in politics since childhood. Respecting women is a part of our culture. It was my childhood dream to enter politics. I had never thought of anything other than becoming a leader.”
‘Women are more targeted in the name of Napo Kid’
Regarding the difficulties faced in political life, he said, it has become easiest to comment on women in this world. Women are more targeted in the name of Napo Kid. Calling me a Nepo kid is an insult to the people of Samastipur. Nitish Kumar gave 50% reservation to women in Panchayat. But politics is not considered safe for women, even today women are the second choice in ticket distribution.
My entry into politics was accidental- Iqra Hasan
While sharing her political journey, SP MP Iqra Hasan said that a guard had told her that she would become a leader. Iqra Hasan said, “A guard of Parliament had told me that I would become an MP. I never thought that I would enter politics, my entry into politics was accidental. My third generation is active in politics, so politics is a big responsibility for me. My family is of open nature.

‘Reservation is necessary for women even in political parties’
Regarding the challenges faced by women in politics, the SP MP said, “Even today we have to ask for votes by becoming daughters and daughters-in-law rather than our capabilities.” Reservation is necessary for women in political parties also. We cannot bring change just by getting one or two tickets. Also, hijab and purdah should not be imposed on women. This should happen by the woman’s choice.
‘My brothers are elder than me but my position is higher’
Iqra Hasan also talked about the importance of passion in politics. She said, I want to do such work which opens doors for women. I have come into politics to fulfill responsibilities. It is important to focus on work and not on women’s attire. My brother is elder than me but my position is higher.
